From a visitor from Colorado I grew up in old home in the state of New Mexico. My parents and six children lived in the old house. I can remember footsteps and whispering voices at night. Being that we had only three bedrooms, my two older sisters shared one bedroom and my two younger brothers and me shared the other bedroom with my three younger sisters. We all would hear creaking sounds and footsteps and sounds like something dragging. We never discussed these happenings amongst us because we were young and thought it was part of a normal life. Then we grew up and moved away got married and had children of our own. We would have family get together during the holidays and that’s when we all started talking about the weird things we use to see and hear. I remember when I was about eight years old I slept on the couch that night. That’s where my mother would have us sleep if one of was sick so we would not interrupt the rest of the children if we coughed or cried. I remember awakening one early morning and I felt some one standing by me, but I couldn't move. I had this horrible feeling that what ever was there was evil and bad. I could feel it trying to pull the covers off my head. It felt like a breeze pulling at the blanket. I would lay with my head covered with only enough space for me to breath and I would wait till the light would show through the top of the window before I felt what ever it was had left So many strange things happed in our home and particularly around hunting season. Our children also saw scary apparitions, like the man with the tall black hat and the pictures taken during parties where a couple of hanging ropes with a noose appear above the persons in the pictures. My parents said that a real old man and his wife died in that house. I guess we will never know. My parents have since died and the house was sold. Now we hear that three different families have moved in and moved out. |
