I used to live with my aunt in Hartford Michigan, the house we lived in was once a doctor’s office, and I had heard from my aunt and from our landlord bill, that a baby's skull was found while cleaning out the basement. I was truly interested in ghosts, I watched all the shows, did online research, that’s how I came to find this site, well anyways I thought it was awesome and asked to go in the basement, of course I was told no, but one day when they left to go to the store I walked into the kitchen, which you must go through to get to the basement, when I saw a figure standing by the doorway, my first thought was it was my dog, who is very small, but a closer look revealed just a shadow, I told myself I was only freaking myself out and should just watch TV. I didn’t tell my aunt the story for fear of being yelled at for wanting, and trying to go in the basement, I never told anyone really, I don’t want to get laughed at. Well anyways a few days later I was taking a nap on the couch and heard someone crying in what was my aunt’s room. I went to check it out but no one was there, I walked into the kitchen and found a note telling me they had gone to the store yet again for some toilet paper and eggs. I walked back into the bedroom to investigate and still saw no one, but was overcome with a sense of sorrow. I was truly scared. I ran outside and when they arrived home I told them I just creped myself out a little. Of course they laughed. I continued to "investigate" the house. I learned more of its weird history, and later told the story of the bedroom to my brother, who reported a similar incident, many times things flew off tables, especially the coffee table in the living room. One night my cousin (aunt’s daughter who was 21 and was a ghost enthusiast as well) was attacked by a ghost. I awoke one morning and she was sitting one the chair in the living room (in which we both slept because we were preparing to move) she looked... disturbed. I asked her what was wrong to which she replied, " You wont believe this (she sounded excited) but I was watching TV, at least I thought I was, u were sleeping, mom was playing cards with uncle john at the table, and she was yelling at molly to stop barking at something at the living room doorway. All of a sudden a woman, or a young lady dressed in red, with long black hair, ran into the kitchen and stood by the basement, I could hear her laughing. I tried to turn to look at you and ask if u knew who that was, but I couldn’t move, the girl came back and stared at me, I was choking, I tried to cry out to my mom, but I couldn’t, I woke up, the same thing was on the TV, mom was at the table with john, yelling at molly, you were sleeping, but the girl was gone." She slept with her mom that night, she was so scared, and yet so happy she had finally seen a "ghost" the hand marks on her neck were visible, but that didn’t match up to her story, cuz in the story the "ghost" didn’t actually touch her. I have tried to look up the houses history, and find anything I could about the lady in red. But I could find nothing, whether my cousin (who I will not name) had in fact met a ghost, or just had a bad dream, and whether her experience and mine were connected is still a mystery, now the house is being sold, and I plan to never go back, though I could tell you many more stories of the house, and the house in which my aunt Sarah lived before being murdered.
