From a Visitor in
Canada
All my life I had felt that there was more to things than what was on the surface. I knew deep within my heart
there had to be more. Ghost stories were more than just that. In my twenties it all came to a head. As a child
I drew pictures with people surrounded by rainbows of different colors (auras). As a teen I lost the ability or
repressed it and in my twenties I saw them once again. I not only saw auras, the secrets people keep, energy,
but I saw ghosts.
I have never had cold spots, or unexplainable scents in the house (although I have dealt with them). When I
first saw her, (We named her Laura) I freaked out. It was the first time I had ever seen a ghost and I was
really unsure of what to make of it. I flipped on all the lights. My older sister's response was "Cool, turn off the
lights." Laura appeared at Christmas to look at the tree and she would appear if we redecorated a room and
would give a slight nod if she approved. My sister and I
once talked about moving. I came home from night shift to pictures tilted and our figurines face down. I stood in
the middle of the living room and said "Its okay, we don't plan on moving." Things settled down after that.
I have since married and moved to another province and in the present house which is ninety years old, I
hear children laughing. My DVD machine one day was turning on without a remote or my touching it. As it is
tucked in a dark corner of the bedroom the sensor is not hit by the sun. I said don't play with that and it
hasn't turned on since. Things go missing and turn up months later.
My daughter had lost her retainer. Something we could not afford to replace. We went through the entire
house and tore it apart looking for it. My daughter was in tears because she knew I was angry. She kept
saying "But Mom I put it right here." (By the upstairs bathroom sink) I stood in the upstairs hallway and
said, "If that retainer doesn't show up I am banishing everything ghost or fairy, in this house." Well, let me
say, I could feel a flurry of energy rushing around and things that had disappeared months before started to
reappear. And yes the retainer was found. I was doing laundry and I flapped my husband's shirt. It fell (this
was in the basement) as though it came from the ceiling.
So far I have been lucky, any encounters with anything that is malevolent I have had the ability to deal with.
The story following is a much tamer one. One winter night I received a phone call from a friend. All she said
was "I smell moose hide." I didn't understand what she was referring to but I could
definitely hear the fear in her voice. I brought her back to my house, (the one
with Laura) and gave her a good stiff drink. She was
Native Indian and explained in her tribe that the Shaman or Medicine Man would come for members of
her tribe for a ritual. Now I am a skeptic and had a hard time understanding why this would occur in the
twentieth century but her terror was real. She told me the first sign of his magic was the smell of moose hide. I gave
her a cross and told her to wear it. I asked the symbol to spread its light and cloak my friend. I then asked the
white light of the Higher Powers to cleanse and protect my friend's home and vehicle. I also called upon the
Higher Power to protect my friend. My mother once had a horse that would ask for a carrot by scraping her hoof
on the bottom of the metal screen door. I'm explaining this because just after I had cloaked my friend, there
was the same sound on my front screen door. Well if somebody could jump out of their skin, she did. "He's
found me! He's found me!" She was in hysterics. At the same time, the hoof scraping sound was at my door,
Laura appeared and stood at the doorway. She was not happy. I told my friend he could not get in, the
house was protected. (it was the old rectory for the Anglican and United Churches, it was blessed and plus I
cloaked it.) I turned to the door and asked the Higher Power to take it away. After that things settled down.
An amazing calm came over us. I told her what I had done and told her to do the same thing anytime she felt
she was afraid. Once she felt better she insisted on going home which I told her was nuts but she went
anyway . She called me and said there was no smell of moose hide but a soft smell of flowers in her apartment.
What I have never told my friend is that when I went out side the front door the next morning, there were
hoof prints in the snow.
I found your answer for the question of witchcraft interesting. I am a practicing solitaire witch. I try to use
herbs and other means for curing and protecting. I come from a long line of weird in my family. My mother
has precognetic dreams, my grandmother was precognetic and could see things
occurring when she wasn't in the same room. Both my older and younger sister have psychic abilities and now I am watching my
daughter mature in her own with far more abilities than any of us combined. One female ancestor is
rumored to burned at the stake accused of witchcraft. We do not have the means to dispute or support this but with our
family history it would not be surprising.
I have seen and dealt with things that I never thought possible. I spent a night shift at work watching
someone's aura literally explode releasing demons that attacked other co-workers. I watched as one tore at an
electrician's throat. He complained to me later of his neck around his jugular area was hurting. I spent the
night protecting myself and others calling upon the Higher Powers. I was never so exhausted after a shift
at work. I went to my supervisor and asked to be put on another crew as I could not work with this fellow. My
supervisor knowing the way I was asked me why. Behind a closed door I told him what happened. He said
he wondered why his chest hurt after talking to the fellow and now he knew. I was
immediately changed to another shift.
Things are there, whether from a previous existence as in ghosts or perpetuated from a life of this one as in my
night from Hell. Some things can be explained while others cannot. One thing your readers should know, if
they encounter something that makes them feel uneasy or fearful, call upon a Higher Power to take it away.
Some things can only be dealt with a magic that is greater than ours.
Blessed Be to you and yours
