From a Visitor in California

I moved into my apartment on June 13th, 2003, almost one year ago. On the first night I moved in, my daughter decided to stay overnight with me and my son went to stay with his father, my ex-husband who lived in a nearby apartment. The movers left around 10:30 mammy daughter and I went to bed on a hide abed in the living room shortly after. As soon as I shut off the lights, we heard a noise as if someone were taking the tape off of our moving boxes. (We had not unpacked anything yet.) I got up and turned on the lights. The noise stopped and no one was in the apartment but us. When I shut off the lights again, about 1 minute later, we heard the noise again. (As if someone were unpacking the boxes.) I didn't move and just ignored it and fell asleep. A few weeks later, there was an empty glass on the kitchen counter. It cracked all of a sudden when no one was in the kitchen. I know- I was in the living room watching TV and my children were playing in their rooms. Another time, I walked into the kitchen and all the hairs on my right arm stood up and my arm felt tingly. This only happened when I ran my arm over a certain area in the kitchen, however. I ran my left arm over the same area and the same thing happened. All the hairs standing up and that tingling feeling throughout my arm. Things like this continued throughout the summer. One night, as I was sleeping in my son's room, I felt someone shake me awake. At first I thought I was having a night terror and I ignored it, but it continued. I got up and turned on the light. Of course, there was no one there. (Both my children were spending the night at their father's house.) I figured I was imagining it and lay back down. About 30 seconds after that, I was shook so hard there was no denying it. I left the room and couldn't sleep the rest of the night. My son later told me this happened to him quite often. I asked him why he never told me and he said he thought I wouldn't believe him. I never slept in that room again!
