From a visitor from England
Hi, I come from England. I live in a fairly quiet part of Lancashire and when I was 7 years old my mum and dad got divorced and I, my mum, my mum and my brother moved to the outskirts of the town, it was surrounded by a lot of fields and trees, not many roads. The house was old, Victorian style. My brother, Jamie, and me soon made friends with the next-door neighbors: a boy the same age as me (12) and a girl who was 14. They told us that a long time ago a man had owned these two houses; he was old when he died and had been in the army. But they told us that it was in the newspaper that no one knew just HOW the man died, no one knew for a while that he had actually passed away until a neighbor noticed the milk bottles and newspapers building up at the front door. When the police (or whoever found him) came to the house, there was no answer, so once the house was searched they still could not find him...until they searched the attic. Yes, that 39's where they found him. It was printed on the front page that he had been murdered, there were 3 stab wounds in his chest and his throat had been slit. Once he and his house had been analyzed, no evidence could be found so they suggested suicide...but no knife or any other object was found, the attic was bare and it was also found that the man had only bled for a time of 27 minutes, there was no evidence of blood anywhere else in the house and when they found him it is said that the attic door was locked from the outside... Just a little freaky? But I myself once thought I so this man in spiritual form, but as I didn't believe in ghosts I expelled the thought and based it down to electro-magnetically, but all sorts have happened since.
The most vivid encounter, which we cannot explain, happened one night at around 9:30pm. I was sat in bed finishing my homework and my bed was up against the wall, which divides my brother's bedrooms and mine, his bed was also up against the wall. Anyway, I had just finished my English homework when I heard 3 knocks on the wall, thinking it was my brother I knocked back 3 times: knock-knock-knock, I turned out my lamp and led down but around 3minutes later I heard it again: knock-knock-knock, I wasn't really in the mood for knocking on walls, so I shouted "JAMIE GO TO SLEEP!" but once again 3minutes later I heard it again, I was getting quite angry so I banged on the wall as hard as I could and shouted "STOP IT! I'M TRYING TO GET TO SLEEP" and then my brother replied "Stop banging on the wall then..." arguing as brother and sister do I shouted back "YOU STARTED BANGING!" and he replied "No I didn't, I haven't even touched the wall, it's you who keeps on knocking!" Well, I wasn't in the mood for him winding me up, so I got out of bed and went into his bedroom, I turned on the light and said "Look, I don't think you're funny Jamie" and then he got out of bed and came over to where I was standing, he opened his mouth to speak but then it happened again! KNOCK-KNOCK-KNOCK! But REALLY loud as if the wall was about to come through!!!
My brother and me were pretty freaked out by that time, so we didn't dare move. I can just remember him saying "That's coming from you're room..." But the loud banging had got my mum's attention and she came storming up the stairs demanding an explanation. Well, she didn't believe us one bit and sent us both to bed, wanting to hear no more about it.
We didn't really talk about it much, as our mum didn't believe us and I didn't believe in ghosts or the living-dead. But when we came home from school my mum told us both that she had heard the knocking. She had been decorating the living room walls, when she heard it coming from upstairs...We were pretty freaked out but we couldn't prove anything so there was nothing we could really do about it. Every now and then you can hear a really loud noise coming from the attic, it sounds like a mobile phone vibrating but REALLY loud so the whole house shakes.
My mum says it's just the wind passing through the attic. But no one dares to go up there still... It happens quite a lot, the banging and the loud noises, we can't explain it and I STILL don't believe in ghosts I guess, but it's fun to tease my brother. I know he believes it, even if I did believe, and this "ghost" might be real, I know that he couldn't do us no harm...Ghost or no ghost we haven't come to no harm, although things do often get broken or go missing, but really ghosts are just bored spirits...It's still freaky though!!!!
