If you put all of Roswell's facts and analysis together would it or does it make sense?

RESPONSE:

Not to me it wouldn't. The first thing to take place after Mac Brazel found portions of a crashed UFO on his ranch was that he reported it to the sheriff of Chaves County. The sheriff passed the information on to officials at Roswell Army Air Field. Major Jesse Marcel began the investigation. On July 8, 1947 The Roswell Daily Record ran a story with the headline RAAF Captures Flying Saucer On Ranch in Roswell Region No Details of Flying Disk Are Revealed. However the Roswell Daily Record was not the only newspaper reporting the incident. Lt. Walter Haut was the RAAF Base Public Relations Officer and he released this report to the news media first. When Haut was interviewed in 1990 he said he remembered a discussion of many different stories that should be given about the incident in Roswell. Haut recalled that the base commander dictated his initial news media release.

On July 9, 1947 a new news release came from the Roswell Base dictated by Brig. General Roger Ramey saying the saucer was not a UFO but a weather balloon. At this point the press dropped any further reports on the Roswell Incident. The reason was simple, people trusted and believed the military and accepted what they said as factual at that time. You can't blame them for this, considering the time period and the fact that we had just come through a major war successfully. The concept of possible conspiracies by our government and its agencies was not even a concern of most of the public. In short, the public trusted their government. But this cover-up story by Brig. General Ramey would change that attitude and would result in non-belief of the government even to this day.

In July 1995 the General Accounting Office released a document on the Roswell Incident. The Air Force attempted to put an end to the belief that there was a cover-up. They attempted to put forth the concept that the items found in the New Mexico region were nothing more than a weather balloon. Even though reports from eyewitnesses, as well as Major Jesse Marcel (and later the eyewitness report by Jesse Marcel's son), contradicted the reports the Air Force was attempting to make the public swallow. Oddly enough the bodies, the Air Force contended, found at the crash scene were not bodies at all but dummies. But the dummies the Air Force insisted were used were not even developed until 1955 when the crash took place in 1947. This can only lead one to believe that the Air Force is not being truthful or they have discovered the ability of time travel and kept that secret as well.

There are so many things regarding this incident that it would take a book to cover all the material. However, based on all I have read and the information I have found via The Freedom of Information Act, the Air Force remains in the cover-up stage. Even General Philip J. Corso, now deceased, contended that the Air Force was involved in a major cover-up in his book published just prior to his death called The Day After Roswell. Phillip J. Klass also wrote two books on the subject that the very titles tell you what he believes: UFOs: The Public Deceived and The Real Roswell Crashed-Saucer Cover-up.

Many ask what the reason would be for the continued cover-up about UFOs. The only answer I have concluded that makes sense is economic and religiously based. If mankind were to believe there are other life forms that visit us via the means of a UFO it could effect the religious foundations of all religions. Plus many are of the belief that if the religious foundations were effected so would the economy be effected. Some are of the belief that it would shake the very foundations of our concepts of how we came to be. This concept is beyond me - because regardless of other life forms in this universe or beyond this universe, God remains God and is the same God to all life forms. I do not believe our belief systems are so fragile to justify a continued cover-up. However, we now have other factors to contend with, those factors being the reverse engineering that many contend has taken place since the recovery of the disk in Roswell. Though I am not certain of the reverse engineering concept, it does seem plausible only because of the history of mankind. When one considers the amount of things that have been developed since 1947 to present day, when for 2000 years prior these things were not even in our dreams except to a few like H.G. Wells and Jules Verne to name but two, it does make one lean towards the belief of reverse engineering.

People will debate the Roswell Incident until the end of time or until a UFO lands on the front lawn of the White House. There will be those who believe a UFO crashed in Roswell and those who buy the stories of the U.S. Air Force. You have to decide what is factual and what is not. No one else can make that determination for you. But the evidence indicates to me that the American public was snowed and continues to be snowed by the governmental powers. I'm not a conspiracy theorist, nor do I see conspiracy in everything the government does. But reason tells me something isn't quite right here and my instinct tells me to believe little from either side of this issue without in-depth investigation on my own. We cannot afford to be a nation of sheep, led by our government without question - we must seek the truth from all sources of information to understand what is really taking place on each incident that occurs. Freedom allows us to do this, through the access of records stored by the government, as well as through the access of information through books and other materials available. Freedom not only allows us to do this but also forces us to do this - because that is one of the prices of maintaining that freedom.

Hope this answers your question. Thanks for writing Eeeek!
