From a visitor in MO 5/13/03:
"Is area 51 a real place or is it just a place that is fake and every body wants it to be real or is it a place were some one made it up after some one else talked about it"

RESPONSE:

Is area 51 a real place? Yes it certainly is. I've been to Area 51. The truth is it is part of an Air Force Base about 90 miles north of Las Vegas. Groom Lake, which is the dry lake bed that the Air Force Base has been placed upon has one of the longest runways in the world. In 1954 this area was used to test the U-2 spy plane. It also was used to test the Stealth bomber. So yes, it is a very real place. However it has been kept secret by various powers within our government from the people of this country - and the reason given is 'national security.' Whether or not it has been used to test alien craft that was retrieved by the Air Force is anyone's guess. There are numerous books on the subject. Since the Air Force and the powers that have gone to great lengths to keep everything involving Area 51 secret, there is no confirmation on anything that takes place there, as a result one must draw their own conclusions. But yes, it is a real place. It is highly secured and protected. And yes, if you cross the line at the entrance a group of armed guards will pursue you - as well as black helicopters -- I've seen it happen.
