Your Child is Psychic
Recently I have received many questions in email about children being psychic and seeing ghosts. Most of the time the people asking are wondering how to handle a child that sees ghosts and what to tell them. Because I have gotten so many questions regarding this issue lately I felt it important to write up a guideline for parents with psychic children.
First, and probably the most important, is to remember that children learn fear. Fear is not an instinctive reaction to things, unless the fear is related to a previous life experience. So if the parent reacts with fear to the things a child tells them, the child then will become fearful. So the primary thing is, if your child should come to you and tell you he is seeing his dead grandmother or grandfather, you know the one he saw two days ago in the photograph album when you were introducing him to your family history, don't react fearfully. This doesn't mean that grandmother or grandfather is coming to take your child with them. It simply means they are visiting the child they, in all likelihood, didn't have the opportunity to meet before crossing over to the other side. Simple tell your child they are visiting you because they want to know you and that is what love of family is all about. Don't instill fear in your child by reacting fearfully.
People ask me if there is someone they can or should take their psychic child to for help. I don't recommend taking a psychic child to a psychologist simply because they can see things that others are unable to see, meaning ghosts or spirits. Psychologists generally take the attitude that this is an illusion, not real and will convince the child that they are not normal as a result. Children have enough pressure fitting in with their peers and to give them the idea that they are not 'normal' by any standards is an error in my opinion. Even if you should take your child to a psychologist, if the child is truly psychic they will still see spirits/ghosts, they simply will learn to not mention it so as to appear 'normal' to the outside world. In short, they will bottle up their experiences and not share them anyone. This can result in a child becoming a loaner, or outcast, simply because he/she doesn't feel comfortable around other people who don't experience the same things he/she are experiencing. So explain to your child that they have a special gift that many others don't have. Because of this, it is smart for them to share the information only with you and not everyone else. If need be tell them it is because others will be envious of their special talent and they don't want to nor need to lord this over others.
Children all seem to have the ability to be psychic, some more than others. However, because our society tends to discount this ability most children are taught to ignore it and not develop it. For example, many children have invisible playmates but parents tend to tell their children, because the parent can't see the invisible playmate, that there is no one there. But can we say this categorically? More than likely we can't. In short, we train our children not to be psychic. We conform to society and its demands that seeing spirits/ghosts is not normal, not real, and not possible. Why, because we can't prove it to a scientific certainty. Yet what always amazes me is that we teach children to believe in God and God can't be proven to a scientific certainty either. But some place inside each of us we know the truth and that truth continues to come forth regardless of science. So just because you are unable to see what your child sees doesn't mean it is not there. Since the dawn of time parents have taken this route of dismissing these things because it is easier to conform to the rest of society than to deal with the delicate balance of what is really taking place. Man relies upon science and asks that it display proof of various things in life. But science will never be able to prove or define the esoteric part of life. Science reflects our physical world and the principals of what keeps that physical world functioning in a constant manner. It is unable to and will always fail to prove or establish rules for anything that is not part of the physical world. So don't look to science for your answers, you will not find them. Instead look within, because the spirit of your life lives there and it can give you the truth and the answers to your questions.
The veil between life and death is thin. If one holds up a piece of paper, looking at it from the thinnest side, that is the thickness between the physical life and the spiritual life. Because the spirit is not encumbered by the physical, it is capable of moving back and forth between the two worlds. Einstein said that we live in a three dimensional world but should be aware that there are far more dimensions than we could ever begin to comprehend. The spiritual world is simply another dimension and it is a dimension that one, when in spirit, can easily transcend. Children, because they are not conditioned by societies rules and regulations, seem to be able to transcend that world also because they have not been taught boundaries yet. It is those boundaries that society establishes that prevents many from being able to tap into their psychic abilities.
Psychic abilities are innate in all people. Man/society refuses to accept it simply because it can't be proven. As a result many people are trained to ignore this ability and conform to what society believes are proper rules. Conformity is not a good thing - it is the difference between being a sheep or leader. Teach your child to be a leader and not conform to what society says are the rules of the physical. In short, let them learn to fly with the spirit, not conform to the physical.
It is also equally important to teach your psychic child what the spirit or ghostly world really is. I prefer calling it the spirit side of life rather than a ghostly side. Within our physical form we house the image of God, our soul. The soul is our life force. When the physical body dies, be it from age, illness, or external events, the soul, the life force, the spirit of the person continues on, as life continues on. This spiritual life form is what we call ghosts. (Though other clear-cut events are related to ghostly appearances, for the purpose of this discussion it is not necessary to go into all of those). So if your child comes to you and tells you there is a ghost in his/her room, don't be so quick to discount it. Instead tell your child what it is they are seeing and tell him/her that they can ask the spirit to leave if they don't wish it around. But don't make the child fearful of it, simply because mankind has never had the ability, knowledge, or wherewithal to learn how to deal with life after death.

Photography
& Ghosts
Team Eeeek has used nearly every type of photographic equipment you could name. We have used infrared film,
manually controlled 35mm cameras, as well as fully automatic
cameras. We have also used video cameras, Polaroid cameras and film, and digital
cameras.
Infrared film: Difficult to use, not recommended for the amateur photographer.
35mm Film: The film used by Team Eeeek is Kodak® film. The film most often used is Kodak Professional Supra 400®. The reason we use this film is it offers a fine grain photo result with extremely high sharpness.
Polaroid® cameras and film: Team Eeeek currently uses the Spectra Camera. This camera has a wide-angle lens with a Quench controlled automatic flash (Quench control means it automatically adjusts the flash output for correct exposure both in close-up shots and more distant shots). This camera is fully automatic but has, more than once, given Team Eeeek some sensational results that no other camera yielded.
35mm Cameras: There are so many excellent cameras available on the market today. With digital capabilities the results of most current day cameras are superior to anything that was available even five years ago. Team Eeeek relies heavily on three different brands of 35mm
cameras: the Canon® AE-1, the Minolta® 5000, and the Kodak Professional Supra 400® or Kodak Professional Supra 800®.

Ouija
Boards
Here's a clue for you about use of a Ouija Board or any other part of the paranormal world. If you feel uncomfortable or frightened by using the Ouija board or investigating paranormal activity then DON'T DO IT!!!! When you allow yourself to be afraid you lend power to whatever entity is there, if any, thus giving control of the physical world, your world, over to them, lending them energy.
A Ouija Board is nothing more than a tool. If you have the slightest bit of fear in using it then do not use it. One should not use it alone either. Keep in mind the Ouija Board is used as a tool or an instrument to communicate with energy in spirit…it is not a toy…it is a portal to another energy level.
Fear is your worst enemy when investigating the paranormal. It clouds your judgment as well as alters your ability to approach things in a scientific manner. If you experience fear as the result of an investigation then you need to withdraw from investigating until you get your fear under control. Otherwise you are unable to approach things in a clinical and scientific manner.

What
are Ghosts?
I have been asked many times: What is a ghost? I will attempt to try to explain it. Basically I believe that there are several types of ghosts. The first type, and probably the most common is the non-entity ghost. A non-entity ghost or manifestation is where there is no spirit attached to the event, but only energy. This type of manifestation is a non-entity energy manifestation and could be called a residual ghost.
The next type of ghost is a non-entity that fulfills the task of a specific event that was charged with emotions. This is an emotional impression that is tied to a specific area and a specific event. Again it does not require a spirit to be linked to the event unfolding. This is a non-entity event manifestation generally called an anniversary haunting.
Our next type of ghost is the entity or spirit type of manifestation. This type of ghost is an intelligent ghost. Meaning there is intelligence behind its actions. Perhaps it attempts to get your attention by creating odors, moving things about, slamming doors, closing windows, etc. This is the spirit's attempt to communicate with you. This type of ghost is also called a messenger ghost.
Lastly, we have the poltergeist. Poltergeist is a German word meaning noisy spirit. This type of ghost is probably the more complex of all the ghosts. It may or may not involve a spirit. This type of ghost does exactly as the German word translates, makes noise. It will shake beds, move things around, slam doors, rattle windows, and many other types of physical activities.
However there can be spirits attached to this type of ghostly activity also.

What
to do if you think you have a poltergeist!
If should find yourself dealing with what you believe is a poltergeist, perhaps some of the following suggestions will help you.
First, understand what a poltergeist is believed to be. Some in the field of parapsychology will tell you a poltergeist is an unseen ghost. Some believe it to be unrelated to the spirit world completely but directly linked to psychokinesis (for those not aware of what psychokinesis is, it is the ability to move things with your mind, sometimes without even knowing you are doing so). Whatever a poltergeist is it is a bothersome, frightening experience.
So what should you do? First thing you must do is begin documenting the activities. To do a thorough job in documenting the activities you must make notes on the following:

Consider each incident as a separate occurrence and not simply an ongoing activity.

Make note of the time, the date and the day of the week the incident takes place.

Make note of where the event occurred, which room in the house/building.
-
Make note if there are any strange smells/odors associated with the event.
-
Make note if there were any strange or unusual noises associated with the event.
-
Make note if there was a temperature change in the area the activities took place.
-
Note who else was in the house, the age and sex of each person.
-
If you observe anything unusual, beyond the moving of objects, such as a fog or ghostly like figure, make note of this as well.

Ask others that were in the house when the activity took place what they were feeling just prior to the incident.

Note the outside weather conditions as well. Frequently homes are affected by outside weather conditions and some people will confuse normal activities caused by outside weather conditions as being poltergeist activities.

Lastly, but probably the most important, make note of the emotional state of the individuals in the home prior to the events taking place. Keeping in mind that high stress, high emotionalism, severe depression, puberty, and mental illness can cause psychokinesis without even knowing they are doing so.
By documenting each occurrence you can then go back and look at the information you have collected and determine if there is a cycle or pattern to the activity. If it is random, then look at any other things you have documented to determine if there is a pattern. Such as, are the exact same people always in the home when the activity takes place?
Getting rid of a poltergeist generally requires the involvement of a psychic. However, if you cannot find a psychic in your area that can help you immediately, you can attempt to lower the activities and make the incidents calmer. You do this by talking to the poltergeist. Explain, in a firm, but kind voice, that you are unable to communicate with this entity in the way they have selected to communicate. Also explain that their activities are very disruptive to you and your family and those activities must stop. Do not demand. Simply make your statement firmly, as if talking to a child, but make certain your point is clear.
Some people will opt to pray. If you happen to be one who believes in prayer then it is something that will work well for you. Prayer, by its nature, is a positive action, simply because it shows faith in a higher power. Prayer, for many, has reduced the activities of a poltergeist.
Odds are you will not be able to stop the poltergeist immediately. You will have to repeat your talk with the poltergeist or your prayer or both, each time something happens in your home. If it still continues you will need to have a psychic, who can communicate with this entity, come and find out what it wants and what you must do to rid your home of it. The psychic will rely heavily upon your earlier documentation.

Shadow
People or Shadow Beings
A term that is growing in popularity is Shadow People. Recently I've heard many people talk about Shadow People or Shadow Beings. So what exactly is a shadow being? If you talk with a skeptic they will tell you a Shadow Being is your imagination. If you talk to a believer in the paranormal they will tell they could be one of several things. First, it could be a ghost. Yes, most people think of a ghost as being a misty white, having a human form or appearance, even having discernable clothing. Shadow people are also much darker than a ghost and look more like a shadow. Though shadow people do, frequently, have a human form or appearance, because they are dark they lack in details. Because of this, many associate shadow people with a negative energy, or evil, demonic energy rather than merely a ghostly form. This is not necessarily true.
A shadow person may be a demon or malevolent entity. Some researchers speculate that shadow people fall into this category. But these researchers are unable to determine why they appear to the physical human. In this research category many say the common detail of the shadow person as described by the witness is the appearance of glowing red eyes.
Still other researchers contend that shadow people are nothing more than people or the essence of a person who is having an out-of-body experiences, such as astral projection. In this theory researchers believe what people are seeing is the ephemeral astral body of the astral traveler.
Some researchers have put forth the theory that shadow people are time travelers from our future. Because they do not truly exist in our timeframe they become nothing more than shadows in our timeline.
Of course there are some who believe that extraterrestrials are shadow people. Many people who have stated they have seen aliens in their home, that these aliens have the ability to pass through walls, windows (opened or closed) and disappear or appear suddenly. So many associate shadow people with aliens.
A recent poll shows that the majority of people believe that shadow people are interdimensional beings. Now one must determine what an interdimensional being is. Some researchers believe ghosts are interdimensional beings, some believe aliens are us from the future and they time travel to our timeline, thus making them interdimensional beings as well. And yet another theory is that our dimension crosses into another dimension at different points of time and as a result people from that other dimension become shadow people to us, and we become shadow people to them, because we have crossed the vibration line of dimensional zones.
In short, no one is certain what shadow people are. There is clearly not enough evidence or research on this phenomena to determine easily what exactly we see when we see Shadow People!
